Dear Appleton Community…
School of Choice Second Chance = Transfer Requests
Question: “What kind of bear is best?” - “What happens if my child is denied School of Choice? Is there any other way to be admitted to the school we want to attend?”
Answer: If denied School of Choice, parent/guardians may fill out a paper copy of the Transfer Request for next school year as early as two weeks prior to next school year.
PLEASE NOTE: Transportation will NOT be provided for students who live outside of the attendance area and attend school under School of Choice or Transfer.
Book Fair Volunteers Needed
Have a ½ hour to spare at lunch time or right after school? Librarian, Sarah Weber can use volunteers Mar. 3-Mar. 12. Contact the office at 254-6400 or Sarah’s email at sarah.weber@d51schools.org
Restaurant Night Update
As the kids say, “The Robin is Red!” ;) Head to Red Robin anytime on Feb. 6 and order a meal and 20% of your purchase comes back to our school. It’s a win win!
Attendance in January Plunges
Sickness and extended vacations by families hit our January attendance hard. We had 199 more absences this January than last year’s January. Hopefully we bounce back in February and get our kids healthy and in school. Attendance is so vital to your child’s education!
White Iced Party – D51 Foundation -A Huge Success!
Over 900 people attended the White Iced event this year. A new attendance record! The D51 Foundation provides grants for K-12 students with financial need the support to allow them to pursue extracurricular activities, technology & innovation grants for staff, as well as professional learning grants for D51 educators. These resources make our school district better able to provide a quality education. Thank you to all the sponsors and especially Alpine Bank for sponsoring tickets for Appleton staff members.
