PTA Meeting Notes for December 2023

Principal’s Report: Corey Hafey

• Thank you for all that PTA does. Staff gifts are so special.

• The Christmas Staff Breakfast – We appreciate it so much!

• Kids are Buzzin’ right now – Keeping Todd & Corey on their toes!

• Todd – Ornament Night was so much fun!

• 14 gallons of hot chocolate

• Over 300 ornaments sold

• Est. 400 – 500 people

• Angelo’s was good to work with!

• Collected many gift cards for needy families at Appleton

• Canned Food Drive – Over 10,000 items collected

• Looking at a few different things for the playgrounds – balls, Pickleball Sets, etc.

• We want to be good stewards of the money. Doing some research now and playground equipment that will last longer than just a few days/weeks

• Spell-A-Thon Rewards – Root beer Floats will be tomorrow

• Served during lunch

• Most Pledges – A student got 20+ pledges in intermediate. A younger kiddo got nearly as many. So, these two kiddos (one primary; one intermediate) will get the Banana’s Fun Park prize

• $100 earners will get prizes on Monday

• $250 earners will get the pizza party mid-January

• All-School Assembly in January –

• Biggest Spell-A-Thon earner will be recognized.

• Pie in the face carnivals prizes

• CMU Pep Band will be here

Financial Report: Brooke Bray

• Spell-A-Thon – Nearly $40,000

• Over $70,000 in the bank right now

Restaurant Nights: Krisi

• Noodles – January 14th --> We get 25% from this one

• Culvers – Reached out yesterday and didn’t hear back

• Mod Pizza – Looking into it!

PTA Board Elections: Jared Johnson

• The PTA Board offices are a 2-year term, which are up this school year. If there are people who are interested in these positions, please make it known sometime soon.

• Question: Can we “shadow” a current board member? Absolutely – We can work that out. Touch base with Jared or Corey if you are interested in a PTA Board position.

• Corey – Even if you aren’t a Board Member, there are so many ways that you can help on PTA – Tee Shirts, Carnival, Art Night, etc.
