Dear Appleton Community…
Veterans Day Hero Display
As part of our Veterans Day Celebration on Nov. 11, Appleton is creating a special heroes display to honor the brave men and women in our school community who have served in the military.
We recently sent out a request to families in Tuesday folders last week that states…
Any students who would like to participate, please fill out the following information and attach a copy of a picture of the veteran by Nov. 7 (please send in a copy as we don’t want to damage the original special picture).
Thank you for helping us honor those who have served our country.

5th Grade Legacy Bake Sale - Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday
It’s time for our annual yummy 5th Grade Legacy Bake Sale. 5th Grade families donate all kinds of cookies, brownies, lemon bars, and even more extravagant concoctions like worms in dirt(chocolate pudding+Oreo crumbles+gummy worms). Items range in cost from .25-$2.00. Kids have the opportunity to purchase after they eat lunch. Proceeds are used by the 5th grade each year to leave a gift for the school. This year they are replacing one or two weathered picnic tables.
Conference Attendance Remains High
Thank you to the 92.8% of our families who teamed with their child’s teacher to celebrate student growth and to explore how to support their child during our conferences. Way to go!
Halloween at Appleton
Halloween costume planning, here are the protocols for our Halloween celebration:
Parade - We will have a costume parade out on the north playground, weather permitting at 10:00 am on Friday, Oct. 31. In case of poor weather the parade will be canceled and will not be held in the hallways.
No weapons or facsimiles of weapons. This includes: all martial arts weapons, bullets, bullet casings, all guns, all bladed props (swords, knives, scythe, tridents, etc.), bows and arrows.
Parents/Guardians - Parents are allowed to participate in person at the parties and the parade. Parents will be asked to sign into the parade (a sign-up table will be set up on the north playground and for parties).
Safety Concerns
Please don’t stop in the striped area when dropping off, or picking up kids. Pull forward. There are usually spots opening near the bike rack that are safer.
Please do not park in either of the two Auction Winner spots.
Go Bookworms!
