Principal Newsletter // OCTOBER 14th, 2025
Dear Appleton Community…
Unbelievable! Over 250 office referrals to see the Principal in the 1st Quarter!
Ok, that headline may be a little misleading and cause some of you to wonder if Appleton’s great reputation for Respect & Effort has fallen apart. Don’t worry, these office referrals represent several hundred times in the first quarter that students were sent to the office for a positive celebration. That’s amazing! Our staff are always on the lookout to recognize Respect and Effort and reward students when they display it.
Thank You PTA!
Old principal wisdom says that a well fed staff is a happy staff. After dining on the delicious dinner on the first night of conferences from the PTA, Appleton’s staff feel loved and appreciated. Thank you PTA, PTA staff appreciation committee, and Appleton families!
Halloween at Appleton
I know it is a little early but to help in your Halloween costume planning, here are the protocols for our Halloween celebration:
Parade - We will have a costume parade out on the north playground, weather permitting at 10:00 am on Friday, Oct. 31. In case of poor weather the parade will be canceled and will not be held in the hallways.
No weapons or facsimiles of weapons. This includes: all martial arts weapons, bullets, bullet casings, all guns, all bladed props (swords, knives, scythe, tridents, etc.), bows and arrows.
Parents/Guardians - Parents are allowed to participate in person at the parties and the parade. Parents will be asked to sign into the parade (a sign-up table will be set up on the north playground and for parties).
PTA Adds Childcare to Increase Meeting Participation
Let’s say you want to come to the PTA meeting next week on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 4:10 but you are wondering how to keep your little ones quiet during the meeting? Well, wonder no more! The PTA is offering childcare during the meeting for students who are potty trained and older. A loving staff member will take the kids to the gym during the PTA meeting for activities, a snack, and some fun. Then when the meeting is over, pick up the kids and feel great about helping the PTA at no cost to you.
Go Bookworms!
